The funny thing about sleep...
Is that if you don’t get enough, you might do some pretty ridiculous things. A good example of this might be spending 10 minutes or more of your shower staring at a drop of water that you SWEAR TO GOD moved UP the shower wall, completely defying gravity. Then you might spend another five minutes trying to reproduce this mystifying phenomenon, then another five minutes writing a blog post...

Yep.
Just spent the entire day and night at work. 8am-10pm.
I've decided to stop working so hard.
…at work, anyway. It’s just not worth it most of the time, and it’s stressing me to the point that my grades are suffering. Enough of that.
Now I just need to figure out how to make it look like I’m working really hard.
Suggestions?

I sometimes wish amn't was a real word.
As in a contraction between am not.
Not because I approve of butchering the English language, but because it would help me not sound like a total dumbass sometimes.
I find myself answering questions with the word I instead of I’m, and then trying to still use a contraction (I am not sounds too robotic to me for some reason) and spit out amn’t.
Then I just laugh it off and pretend...

Today is my kid's birthday.
We celebrated last night….at Chuck E. Cheese.
I have a hangover, but there was no alcohol involved, just a boatload of screaming kids.
I have a Chuck E. Cheese hangover.
That place is evil. No place should be that exhausting without alcohol.

I bring it on myself, though, so I can’t really complain. I can, however list the majority of things that are taking up most of my time so that you all will see it and feel sorry for me and comfort me with things like “It will all be worth it in the end!” and “Wow! How in the world do you do it?”.

Would you be nervous?
Next week I’m taking my kids to D.C. for a couple of days. I want to take them to check out the Smithsonian and some of the cool historical sites and monuments around the city. This will be the first time that anyone but my daughter has gotten to tour D.C., and we’re all pretty excited about it.
